Our client is a non-government mental health organisation that provides rehabilitation and recovery support to people with serious mental illness. Pinnacle Group Australia has worked extensively with the not for profit’s Board and executive team since 2005, advising them on key strategic, commercial and organisational issues.
Process
We devised the organisation’s strategic directions for three consecutive three year periods. Each time we have undertaken detailed analysis provided insight into the organisation’s current performance and identified potential future areas of growth and improvement opportunities. The final directions were discussed and agreed by the national leadership team and members of the Board in two facilitated planning workshops.
Pinnacle Group Australia has supported our client to take a measured approach to expansion and growth through market analysis and commercialisation strategies. We do this through economic modelling and business case development that evaluate and weight both financial considerations – such as profit and loss projections and resourcing requirements – and non-financial considerations relevant to achieving recovery outcomes for people with mental health issues.
Outcome
The organisation’s strategic directions underpinned a highly successful eight year period during which it expanded its service offerings, commercialised a number of innovative sector-leading practices, built a strong culture and achieved a significant level of annual growth. Overall, since the partnership with Pinnacle Group Australia began, the organisation has experienced around 1,000 per cent growth, has expanded its service catchment from one state to five, and has significantly increased its service ‘foot print’ in key states through recent service recommissioning wins.
