Pinnacle Group Australia was appointed to design and deliver the institute’s flagship program – the Emerging Leaders Impact Program. This was a key plank in the organisation’s strategy to strengthen educational leadership in Victoria and position the state’s education sector among the top tier nationally and internationally.
Process
In partnership with the client and the Centre for Strategic Education, we consulted with key stakeholders to determine the participants’ critical development needs then designed and delivered the program. Aiming to achieve a number of goals, the program incorporated a range of modalities and learning materials delivered over eight months. These included guest speaker panels, international and local experts, innovative experientials, pre-reading and reflection exercises, webinars, on-line collaboration sessions, team and individual diagnostics, team-based ‘action learning’ projects and eight high impact workshops.
Outcome
The program was delivered over two years to 200 emerging leaders in education, many of them on the path to principalship. The multi-year program evaluation attests to the long term impact of the program. Participants described their experiences in the program as ‘life changing’ and ‘transformative’ – exposing them to teaching and learning best practice, building their confidence, emotional intelligence and self awareness, improving their leadership skills and capabilities, and creating the right environment for innovation. Moreover, the 200 action learning projects seeded across the state had a substantive impact on student learning outcomes.
