As a Principal Consultant with PGA, Susan works with senior leaders and teams to help build vibrant and optimistic work communities. She is a warm and engaging facilitator whose exceptional interpersonal skills, authenticity and humour allow her to connect easily with diverse audiences. Curious by nature, she brings her strong connection with purpose and meaning to her work, which drives her enthusiasm and she delights in sharing with others how they might do the same.
Background and experience:
With extensive experience across private, government and the not-for-profit sectors, Susan has worked as an organisational development consultant at FBG Group and Optum Health. Additionally, she has worked closely with a number of large Government Departments to deliver leadership programs and bespoke organisational solutions such as assessment centres through a boutique HR Consultancy firm based in Canberra. She underpins her broad consulting experience with several years of secondary school and tertiary teaching. Susan’s eclectic work experience across various sectors brings significant scope to her consulting work but she is particularly passionate about the Health, Human Services and Education sectors.
At PGA, Susan works with senior leadership teams and frontline leaders, both individually and collectively, to hone strategies and skills that are required to achieve high performance and build engaged and productive workplaces. She is an agile consultant, working across a variety of projects but has particular interests in the connection between culture and leadership, strategic wellbeing initiatives, team cohesion and the active management of conflict within teams.
Susan holds a Master of Organisational Psychology from the University of New South Wales, and a Diploma of Arts from University of Sydney. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Griffith University and a Graduate Diploma of Teaching. She is a registered psychologist and a member of the Australian Psychological Society.
Susan’s passions include swimming, reading, creative writing, gardening and cooking. She loves to laugh, learn and create. She enjoys the contrast of her rural home life and her city-based corporate life. She draws her inspiration from the cycles of nature and her close connections with her family, friends, workmates and clients.
